Canine Companions for Independence - - - Our Pet Project, Otis

Land Park Ski & Sports supports Canine Companions for Independence (CCI). Over the next year, we will follow Otis, a future CCI assistance dog. He was born May 28th, 2007. He was the first born of 11 all-black Labrador Retrievers. He is the largest by build but not weight.

Otis, our pet project

Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) was founded in 1975 to train dogs to assist people with disabilities other than blindness. Thirty-three years later CCI is the acknowledged leader in the field owing to its firm dedication to the mission: To enhance the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships. Men, women and children over the age of five who can demonstrate that an assistance dog would enhance their lives are eligible to apply. The dogs are provided free of charge thanks to generous donors like you. Some people wait a lifetime for a miracle, at CCI we raise them one at a time.
